Galaxy S8 Release Date UK & US – When will the new Galaxy S8 come out? According to the Wall Street Journal, Samsung may miss its Mobile World Congress launch window entirely, stating: "At risk is the expected February launch of [Samsung's] next flagship smartphone, likely to be called the Galaxy S8." The report continued: “Samsung executives have delayed the development of the Galaxy S8 device by two weeks as engineers work to get to the bottom of the Note 7’s overheating problem, according to a member of the Galaxy S8 development team." And according to a November 2016 report by the Investor, Samsung is still settling on a launch date, but wants suppliers to be coughing up parts within the first four weeks of 2017. “Key supplies are required to provide an initial batch of their parts for the Galaxy S8 from January,” said one industry source. “Full volume supplies will start in February."

LG G6 RELEASE DATE UK & US – WHEN WILL THE LG G6 COME OUT?

LG G6 RELEASE DATE UK & US – WHEN WILL THE LG G6 COME OUT? The LG G6 release date is what you’re probably most keen to find out, but information is still thin on the ground. That said, it’s not too difficult to take a good guess. First off, here’s when previous LG flagship smartphones were announced and released in the UK: LG G5 – February 21 (announced), April 8 (released) LG G4 – April 28 (announced), May 28 (released) LG G3 – May 27 (announced), June 27 (released) LG G2 – August 7 (announced), September 12 (released) It’s clear that there’s no real pattern to LG smartphone launches. However, last year’s LG G5 announcement took place one day before Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress technology tradeshow started, which we’re guessing will happen again this year. In 2017, the MWC show will run from February 27 to March 2, so we’d expect the LG G6 to be announced on Sunday, February 26, 2017 – alongside the rumoured Samsung Galaxy S8. Unfortunately, guessing the...

What Microsoft is taking away from Windows 10 in the Anniversary Update

What Microsoft is taking away from Windows 10 in the Anniversary Update Updating to a new build of Windows is always a give-and-take process. The  Windows 10 Anniversary Update  is full of great new features like a more powerful Cortana, deeper integration with mobile devices, and new inking features designed to make the stylus cool again. But as with any new version of Windows, the Anniversary Update also removes a few features and functionality that some of you might miss. Amid all the excitement over what's coming to AU, here’s a look at what Microsoft sent to the Recycle Bin. The impersonal login page The Windows 10 login page in build 14385. A small, but nice cosmetic change. Now, when you click or swipe away the lock screen background picture, you don’t end up on a login screen with a plain colored background or the default Windows background. Instead, you get the same picture as your lock screen by default. The new animation for switching be...

Sony VAIO Pro 13 review: This audacious Ultrabook is guaranteed to get you noticed

Sony VAIO Pro 13 review: This audacious Ultrabook is guaranteed to get you noticed Mix one part fashion sense with two parts high-tech wizardry, and you get Sony’s VAIO Pro 13. If you’re looking for a notebook that will turn heads when your manicured fingers slide it out of your Gucci messenger bag, this is the Ultrabook to buy. In all seriousness, you needn’t worry that the VAIO Pro is all style and no substance. This amazingly light machine can handle just about any task other than hard-core games (due to its reliance on integrated graphics). Although the configuration Sony sent us for review has only a Core i5-4200U processor and 4GB of DDR3/1600 memory (just as Lenovo uses in its much-cheaper  IdeaPad U430 Touch ), the VAIO Pro also has a 128GB solid-state drive to help level the playing field. And whereas Lenovo provides a 1600-by-900-pixel panel, Sony goes for the full monty with a gorgeous 1920-by-1080-pixel display that benefits from the company’s expertise in des...

Sony PS4 review

Image
Sony PS4 review The best PS4 games are among the finest available on any platform at the moment, with showstoppers like Uncharted 4 and Bloodborne the envy of PC and  Xbox One  gamers alike. They'll all be compatible with the new PS4 Slim, as will every game going forward – Sony made it explicitly clear that every game for the PS4 Pro will work here, too. On top of the games themselves, the PS Plus network offering is as good a deal as it's ever been, allowing you to partake in competitive or cooperative online multiplayer play and offering up a selection of three free games on a monthly basis too. In terms of competition, the PS4 Slim really only has two rivals – the existing PS4 and the Xbox One S. Nintendo can't really compete with its Wii U (though it'll be interesting to see what the so-called Nintendo NX brings to the table). And it's against the  Xbox  One S where the PS4 Slim has its toughest fight. Only a tad more expens...

Microsoft Wants The Surface Studio To Inspire You

Image
Microsoft Wants The Surface Studio To  Come with me, and you’ll be, in a world of marketing innovation. The internet hates ads. Hates them. But it  loves  ads for new gadgets. The internet invented ad blockers to stamp them out, it cries out in one voice if it suspects it’s being sold to, and it has been usurping the traditional model of showing people stuff they might want to spend money on for years. Traditional advertisers have shunned marketing norms and tried to reinvent the ad as we know it. In a bid to circumvent the angry mob, the advertising industry leaps forward, finding new ways to deploy humor and sex to sell you products. The  festival of advertising known as the Super Bowl  is now watched as much for the new ads as it is for the football. That’s what makes Microsoft’s ad for the Surface Studio really interesting. For the first time in a long time, a product is being sold on its merits, not on a catchy jingle or a good-looking per...

Microsoft may be upgrading the specs of the Xbox One before its release

Image
Microsoft may be upgrading the specs of the Xbox One before its release The Xbox One reveal was so disappointing that it’ll likely go down in history as one of the gaming industry’s most memorable high-profile blunders. Microsoft’s decision to revise its mistakes will also likely go down in gaming history as unprecedented. Now, in what may end up another unprecedented move, Microsoft might be revising the Xbox One’s hardware before it even releases. For the uninitiated, Microsoft took a few enormous missteps when it announced the  Xbox One . The new console would be bogged down by always-online DRM, a mandatory Kinect that is always watching, listening, and can see in the dark, a system to curb the sale of used games, and the same Xbox Gold paywall that currently plagues the Xbox 360. On top of all that, it turned out the Xbox One’s hardware wasn’t all too impressive when compared to its main competitor, the PS4 — and it would cost $100 more than Sony’s more powerful, not-bogg...
